Peggy
Thompson, Administrative Assistant, Mayor's Office

Peggy serves as Administrative Assistant
to the Mayor and Office Administrator. She has held this position
since August 1, 2007 upon Paula Pinkston's retirement. Peggy is a
long time resident of Shelbyville and has over 20 years of
experience. Peggy is responsible for channeling complaints and/or
concerns of citizens to the department or person where solutions can
be found. She frequently represents the Mayor and/or Office
Administrator.
Other
aspects of her position include composing and typing letters,
maintaining records, including minutes, resolutions, and ordinances
for the City. Peggy is responsible for coordinating the City's
portion of the annual "Celebration of Lights" event. This entails
organizing the decorating of trees, the installation of lighted
figurines, and coordinating the roles of the various departments to
ensure the event is safe and enjoyable for our citizens and
visitors.
